SUMMER ~ 2010

It has come that time of year again, SUMMER!!! We have already been busy with little trips, 1/2 marathons, finishing the basement, and getting ready for the reunion in AUGUST!!! We are excited and are anticpating a fun-filled, eventful summer! So hopefully we will be able to blog more of the memories we make of the adventures of this summer.

MOAB!!!
I was able to go with a group of friends at the beginning of April to Moab, a place I have always wanted to visit. Here are just some of the pictures, but these don't even capture an ounce of what it actually looks like! I would encourage everyone to someday visit this national park! It is worth the drive!

Me on top! Getting up and down was very tricky

This is inside the crags.

I can't remember what this place was called, but it was another natural beauty.

That would be me, that little speck of white

This is it!!! GORGEOUS!!! It was funny though, among our group was girl from Brazil and she had problem with heights, haha it was hilarious to watch her, but she did it!

This is right before we get to the big arch. My friend, our "guide" told us this was it, this was what we hiked a huge mountain of rock for. I was a little put out, but then we went up around the corner and saw the actual arch (you should know by this point I thought I was going to die, I was soo out of shape and my calves were on fire so a very good work out and sooo worth it!)

I like this picture because to me it looks like a back drop! It was amazing!!! You could see nothing but blue sky and this rock in the middle!

SAN RAFAEL SWELL!!!!!
Dad has a goal to run a marathon this year and we are all very supportive! This past weekend he ran a half-marathon as part of his training for the BIG EVENT! He ran with a friend in the ward, Patrick Clifford. This run was done on the San Rafael Swell, a beautiful place home to many ancient pictographs. He ran this at the end of last summer and he improved his time by a long shot. His time this run was 2 hours and 2 minutes. For those who are not exactly sure how far a half-marathon is, it is 13.1 miles. He is a trooper! One might ask what role me and mom played in this run, well we were the cheerleaders/water girls. Every 3miles we would stop and put water out on the trunk of the car and then drive a long with them to pick them back up when they were finished drinking. So every 3 miles we would stop, get the drinks ready, and then read!
Here are a few pictures of them when they finished, wished I would have got some of them during the run... oh well.

FINISHING BASEMENT!!!!

This past August we were able to start on finishing the basement. Thanks to Uncle Don, Jim Elsner, Jeremy, Dad, the missionaries, and others in our ward, we have been able to accomplish a lot. So we just wanted to share what we have done so far for those who enjoy looking at half-finished projects.
